Huey Lewis
Made some truly terrible music in the 1980s, including:

I Want a New Drug
The Heart of Rock and Roll
The Power of Love
Happy to be Stuck With You

2. I saw an interview with him.
He said something like "We were just in the right place at the right time and it just snowballed." Not to many celebrities have ever admitted that.

3. But I LIKE Huey Lewis!!!!!!
Huey Lewis and the News did pop hits. Just that: Pop hits. You can't really hate that of him. It was energetic and fun, and that was cool. Sorta like the old 50s hits on American Bandstand. Innocuous, no real message, but something that would make you happy humming for just a little while. I know the message is to make every song count, but I really think that the News was upbeat and gave back their selected audience exactly what they wanted, and that's not BAD.

6. Only decent song was Walking on a Thin Line.
Hated his version of It's All Right. Sounded exactly like JJ Jackson's. Couldn't even tell them apart except for the very last line, something about 'cuts no ice'.

7. I thought bashing rock singers was the purview of Limbaugh and Hannity?
Edited on Tue Jun-14-05 10:35 PM by Floogeldy
I guess I was wrong.

Edit: Oh yea, and Michael Savage, too.

BTW, the name of the last song on the list is just "Stuck with You", and it's one of my favorites by him :) .
