Home Depot can kiss my A$$!!!
Remember this thread from over a month ago??

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=3224464&mesg_id=3224464

Guess what? It still isn't fixed. 3 weeks ago they finally got the part (tub) in and the guy came out and broke something else while he was fixing it. He told me he'd be back in a couple of days...

...

....I just called today (because no one had called me) and was told it would be 7 to 10 business days before the part would even come in. The part that was broken by their tech. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!

So, we have gone two months with a broken $1000 washing machine that we paid 175 bucks for a worthless service plan for.

So I called Home Depot for the gazillionth time...to be told that it really is a shame, they are really sorry and it basically sucks and screw me that I've had to spend hundreds of dollars on laundry fees for my family.

I am so mad I could spit.

 :banghead:  :grr: :nuke:

1. Call your local TV consumer reporter
There's always someone around a local TV station who does this sort of thing.

It sucks big-time, and you sound like you'd be the one to bring the Home Depot bastards (I hate them, but just on general principles) to their knees.

Make it public.

6. MrG's uncle is a higher up in the Better Business Bureau and we
were thinking of talking with him about it. I'm definitely not going to let them get away with this. :hi:

7. Big time pain. It's hotter than Hell here and I've been lugging laundry
all around town in the humidity for what seems like forever. :(

Thanks Lav,

3. When confronted with a situation like this
I have always gone straight to the top

Send a Fed Ex letter to the Chairman and CEO and just let it fly! Believe me, someone will get back to you.

Don't screw around with the salespeople types, you are wasting your breath. Go for the jugular.

11. I second that
Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 02:04 PM by Gormy Cuss
I would identify a VP or executive in charge of the service contracts or large appliance line and call first, then hit the chairman detailing the failings all the way up the food chain and your out of pocket costs because of the delays and errors of their tech people. Usually getting to the right VP solves the problem, and yes, the salespeople and even the store manager are a complete waste of time at this point.

16. Never buy an appliance from Sears, Home Depot
Always, if possible, buy from a local appliance dealer even if it costs a little more. Sears always wants to sell you "insurance" I guess Home Depot too. I always thought this insurance thing was a big ripoff. Can I say I hate Sears. I won't go into that store.

12. I have no idea what went on. It needed a new tub. The tub had a hole
shot through it. It also needed a new rim (the part that holds the tub and basket it. It was chewed up like the machine was ten years old. I really have no idea what part the guy broke putting the machine back together. I am beyond caring at this point. :(

13. I'm sorry
that really does suck.

I waited for a part for my car for 10 months. I couldn't haul my kids in my car for 10 months. I sent a letter to the president of the company, even.

I hope you get your machine fixed soon.

17. A company that big should have REPLACED
that washing machine, no questions asked, especially with a service plan. I also would start screaming long and loud for some actual service! So sorry, Mrs. G.
