If you visit NYC, you MUST go see Spamalot!!!!
Last night, I saw "Monty Python's Spamalot" and it was the FUNNIEST show I've ever seen! I laughed for two hours (minus the 15 minute intermission, of course :P).

For those who don't know, it's a musical based on the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and about 60% of the show is just like the movie ... but the other 40% goes off into Broadway insanity, LOL!

Tim Curry was his usual amazing self and David Hyde Pierce was hysterical! Unfortunately, Hank Azaria's last performance was Wednesday night (he's off for 6 months to film is TV series, "Huff"), but I wasn't too disappointed, because Tim was the guy I really wanted to see. Besides, the actor who replaced Azaria, Alan Tudyk, was terrific!

After the show, I got to meet David Hyde Pierce and my love, Tim Curry!!! He is sooo good looking and charming and sexy and funny and gracious ... :loveya:

It was a great night! :bounce:

6. LOL!
The Knights Who Say "Ni" are in the show. :-)

I LOVED The Producers ... but I got to see Broderick and Lane, so maybe that made a difference. I can't wait for the movie. Most of the original Broadway cast is in it.

I never did get around to seeing Urinetown ... a lot of people told me it was good. I'm sorry I missed it. :-(

2. When did you buy your tickets?
I heard they were sold out weeks in advance.

A co-worker has connections through an agent in NYC and has been begging me to contemplate a trip to see this show.

4. I managed to get a single ticket ...
Edited on Fri Jun-10-05 10:33 AM by BattyDem

one month ago ... 7th row, right orchestra!

You're right ... it's very, very tough to get tickets, but if you get a single ticket, you can usually get a seat to any show.

Tip for tourists: If you and a friend are coming to NYC and you can't get tickets to the hottest show, try to get "singles" - you won't sit together during the show, but who cares? I've gotten into several "hot" shows that way. When "Titanic" was on Broadway and tickets were very hard to come by, I actually got an orchestra seat on the day of the performance ... not by waiting on the cancellation line - I walked right up to the box office window. (Four of us got tickets that day! We were scattered all over the orchestra section, but it didn't matter - you can't talk with your friends during the performance anyway.) Most people don't ask for single seats - they want at least two together, so you can often find a stray seat. :-)

7. I just remembered a great line from the show ...
"Why didn't you tell me you were Jewish?"

"Well ... it's not something I felt comfortable saying to heavily armed Christians."
