Anyone else find it amusing that the first thing right wingers think of when they see imperialism and evil is Bush?

You make a good point about right wingers assuming that talk of Empire and the destruction of a Republic must obviously refer to Bush, when it's an age old story.

If they assume it's about Bush, isn't that conceding that Bush is engaging in imperialism and seeking the marginalization of the Senate? Just asking.

4. What I find amusing -

the first Star Wars movie (Episode IV) was made long before anyone ever imagined Bushco and it's clear the imperial leaders and army, their uniforms, etc. are reminiscent of the Nazis (my daughter pointed that out).

Of course now, with this movie, the similarities to Bushco are easy to infer - do you think your right wing dorm guy sees the obvious parallels between the Nazis and Bushco?
