Bruuuuuuuuuuuuce!
There's so many things I respect about this man, and I'm not even the big Bruce fan in my family...

Saw him Friday night at Giants Stadium, and he kicked ass! Hope I've got half that energy when I'm in my fifties! And is there a better (big venue) live band?

And, after reminding everyone to stop by the NJ Harvest stations and donate, he had this to say...

"People come to my shows with many different kinds of political beliefs; I like that, we welcome all. There have been a lot of questions raised recently about the forthrightness of our government. This playing with the truth has been a part of both the Republican and Democratic administrations in the past and it is always wrong, never more so than when real lives are at stake. The question of whether we were mislead into the war in Iraq isn't a liberal or conservative or Republican or Democratic question, it's an American one. Protecting the democracy that we ask our sons and daughters to die for is our responsibility and our trust. Demanding accountability from our leaders is our job as citizens. It's the American way. So may the truth will out."

Quote is from opening night, but he repeated it at Friday's show. From the strong applause (more than I expected), I'd say people are starting to catch on - I hope...

3. Cool. Thanks for posting that.
I'm going to see the Boss at Fenway in September. This'll be my very first Springsteen concert.

5. God I love this man. I just read through "Songs" again
today. Best 50 bucks I ever spent. He's a true original, there aren't many who would change their entire song-writing style out of anger at being called the "new Dylan"; in order to better characterize and communicate with the people he wrote about in his songs.

I loved his statement for the Dixie Chicks on his website, that was so generous of him and much stronger than the statement quoted above, but Bruce is no idiot on how to get his message across to the people who need it most, and maybe he felt non-partisan was the way to go. I was pretty amazed by the hearings on the FCC ruling when, (was it Renshaw?), that manager, read that e-mail he got from one of the big-wigs at Clear Channel that said "Let Bruce say it and see what happens to him" referring to Bruce's statement in defense of the Dixie Chicks comments about Bush.
