Crap....Hubby threw out his back.
He was getting ready for work this morning, bent over to pick up something he dropped and WHAM!....instant back problems.

And I have to go to work and can't tend to him....

1. I love it
But you take time to post it on DU.

You're true-blue, honey.

I hope the husband feels better soon..........

2. Not much I can do since he insisted on going to work.
Edited on Tue May-31-05 09:05 AM by Liberal Veteran
So he could hit the minor emergency clinic nearby his place of employment. I drove him to work as he asked and he'll have a co-worker take him in when it opens.

If I hadn't just started this new job a week ago, I wouldn't go in, but we just can't afford for me not to go on to work.

But thanks for the well-wishes for my hubby and trying to make me feel guilty about trying to make a living after being unemployed for a year.

3. "...trying to make (you) feel guilty...."?
Get over yourself, girl. I was complimenting you.

Sounds like you're doing a good enough job of guilting yourself. Enjoy.

(There's no being nice to some people.)

5. Of course I feel guilty....
I hate that I can't take care of him. And I'm a little thin-skinned about that. I thought you were making a crack about me posting on DU instead of taking care of him. If I misunderstood, chalk it up to being concerned about him and feeling bad about not being able to do anything to help him get better today.

4. Back problems suck
I had the same thing happen to me about 30 years ago in martial arts class. Bent over and just dropped. The problem disappeared in about a week, and I never had it again.

Hope he comes through just as well.

7. I threw out my back this morning too :(
So bad I ended up on the floor in a cold sweat for at least 10 minutes. Now I'm at work and going to a doctors appointment for it this afternoon. I NEVER go to a doctor, so you know it's bad if it motivated me to do it.

Poor me :(

8. Damn thats tough!
Even worse timing for you (hope the job is living up to your expectations-I know how excited you were). All you can do is pamper the hell out of him after you get home. My guy had to leave me at home nearly crippled by gout SEVERAL times early in our relationship. He wasn't happy about it but life has to go on.

Anyway, take care...
