2. Army recruiting bimbette? Mmmmmm.... no thanks.
Lovely smile, but if she's using it to lure men and women to their doom, forget it.

7. She shills. Who cares if she races?
It's such a comforting use of tax dollars, too, knowing this "racer" is getting maybe $50,000 a year or more to wear gear promoting the army, probably has it plastered on her bike, trailer, crew, etc. and the photo you show has her in front of what appears to be a recruiting office. I'm sure any of us could list 50 better ways to utilize those tax dollars without thinking twice.

Makes me wonder if she's not using the same lines that we see in F9/11 with the recruiters telling those guys "oh yeah, you can play basketball in the army" or "you can be a rapper in the army." I can hear it now "Oh sure guys, you can race motorcycles in the army."

Sorry if "bimbette" was a poor choice of words, but in my book, she's about on par with Armstrong Williams or Ann Coulter, and we all know what they are.

11. Do you work for a living?
If so, then you "shill" in some way or another, too. Anyone who works for pay does. We're all whoring ourselves at some level.

If she didn't pick up the cash for the sponsorship, someone else would. And it takes a lot of cash to be competitive in racing. End of story.

Next.

14. And it takes a lot of warm bodies to fight a war...
I turn down clients all the time who are selling things I find unethical or questionable. If she's as good as you say, I'm sure there are others who would step up if she said "no" to the Army's blood money. Like Halliburton, or General Dynamics, or Phillip Morris...

I mean, motor sports are bad enough as environmental disasters...not just the race, but the 50,000 SUVs driving to and from the race, bumper to bumper, etc. Using racing as a military recruitment advertising medium is insult to injury. But I suppose the demographic is right for recruiting... probably more effective use of my tax dollars than if they put a big ad in "The Nation" or "Mother Jones."

If the Army came to ME and offered a million bucks to create a new marketing campaign for them, would I take it? Good question... would I have to do a good job? :)
