Anyone here seen Donnie Darko? What a good movie!
Jake Gyllenhaal is really trying to make me have a big crush on him, after campaigning for Kerry last year it hasn't been that hard.

We watched Donnie Darko last night, and we were blown away. What a smart, creepy, and all out entertaining movie.

Two thumbs up!

1. I liked parts of it...
but ultimately I'd have to say the plot is murky at best. Maybe the ultimate in murky plots.
I'd have preferred a bit more clarity, so that I didn't get sidetracked by that as the movie went on.

Don't get me wrong, plots don't have to be totally transparent to me, I like "Brazil", and some other nonlinear plots in movies, but I'm just saying I can't give it thumbs up for that reason.
Besides, there are logic flaws big enough to drive a truck through.

I DID find it intriguing and mentally arresting, but a good editor would have done wonders.

3. Watch the director's cut
Everything is much clearer in that. Kinda takes the fun away in my opinion, I prefer the theatrical cut (which is rare for me) but both versions are great.
