Who here has seen "Exorcist II"?
Edited on Sun May-29-05 11:53 PM by BlackVelvetElvis
So bad, it was good. My friend and I saw bits of it on Friday. We squealed over her white cullotes, the "locust cam", Burton's shameful performance and the god-awful tap dancing scene with the maniacal grin on Linda Blair's face. If I had asthma, I would've been dead (because I laughed so hard).

1. I love Richard Burton, and of course, his voice. So no, I haven't....
...seen it. It would be too painful for me to watch one of my favorite actors in a piece of shit movie.

2. BlackVelvetElvis is right...I think RB is amazing but this movie
is "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" material. It is just appalingly bad. Burton was collecting a check so if you see it just say, he got a ton of dough up front, he got a ton of dough up front...

4. Yes, he did collect that proverbial paycheck a lot of times.....
...but he was also so good so many times. "Night of the Iguana" is such a f*****g classic, that it helps me to realize, that sometimes, he just had to pay some bills on some other movies.

6. Iguana is pure genius...and...so is "Whose Afraid of Virginia Wolf"
Imean, I get extremeliy uncomfortable for the actors when I watch the damn film...and Taylor was such a perfect choice. She rose to the occasion. Iguana blew me away also.

3. Don't be to hard on him
They once asked Laurence Olivier why he had acted in such crappy movies like "Clash of the Titans." His reply was because they paid him to be in it. They came from an era when if they asked you to do a movie you did it. Whether it was bad, good or indifferent, because you got a paycheck and it was always experience.

11. I've seen it
It was a train wreck, but like most train wrecks I feel compelled to watch it whenever it is on.

12. absolute trash...it's great...i love the 'synchronizer' w/2 ge light bulbs
blinking back & forth with a black box and that humming noise :wtf:

or even better when linda blair emerges from the wreckage of the house to the crescendo of generic circa 1977 elevator disco music...

or even better when the locusts descend upon washington dc (a foreshadowing of the bush administration i suppose)...

and even better james earl jones dressed in a locust costume (looks like he's on his way to a posh halloween party & they just thought they'd throw him in there to jazz things up a bit)...

oh yeah... that one is a fucking riot... you'll laugh till you cry :D
