1. And now he's making shit like "Are We There Yet?"
AmerikKKKa's Most wanted gets my vote, mainly because it's the only one I'm even really familiar with.

8. Remind me to tell you my story about Ice Cube, Da Lench Mob,
a concert in Kalamazoo MI, Big Tom (of the LM), and ME - with me and Big Tom getting into a squabble in the middle of a Kalamazoo hotel lobby.

I'll be happy to tell it if DU quits tripping out, and if you're interested.

Last time I heard (about 6 or 7 years ago) Cube was still asking about that "crazy white chick" - and I HATED his ass for a long time after that. LOL

4. Hard to choose between Death Certificate and Amerikkka's Most Wanted
But I have to choose Death Certificate.

That album was a perfect expression of what the average person on the street in LA had on his mind at that time. It's like he put his finger on the pulse of the city and took a reading. No other album that I know of ever so fully expressed the outrage of oppression, and the feelings of pride, confusion, and a will to survive in the jungle they were living in.

Sure there were some parts of the album that were racist or misogynistic, but he was holding up a mirror to society, and that's how they felt at the time. It was brilliant.

.....

On reflection there's no way that Ice Cube could ever do an album like that again. He's too big of a celebrity - he's too rich to be fully in touch with the common man, with the poor, with the outraged, with the oppressed. I like the guy, and he's my second favorite rapper of all time (after KRS-One), but I don't think that he'll ever reach the greatness, the lyrical genius, that he once had.

11. I liked Barber Shop 1 & 2.
That looks like one of those guys from "Cypress Hill" the ones who inflicted one of the worst songs of all time on America "Insane in the Membrane"

13. Really? Not a hip-hop fan, couldn't say.
Thought my headline made that obvious.

I have heard a few things from Tupac and Public Enemy that I like, but the nihilistic gangsta stuff does nothing for me.

a few minutes too late.

I work in concert production and I have seen them both up close on many occasions. Never talked to them though. Working ya know. You try to remain professional. Nothing will get you fired faster than star-fucking.
