4. Kate Winslet
She was cheated out of the Oscar she deserved for 'Titanic' by that bitch Helen Hunt.

Now where's Helen Hunt?

...

That's what I thought.

Fuckin' sitcom star up against a world-class female actor? I don't think so.

10. Kate Winslet was terrific in FINDING NEVERLAND, too.
Placebo, I think you've got it nailed with this one -- she is the genuine article and deserves better than she's gotten so far.

11. Absolutely!
She can do more with a look than most actresses can do with a scene full of dialogue.

I cried when I saw 'Finding Neverland' and before that I couldn't remember the last time I cried at a movie!

16. Had the Academy phoned me up, I would have told them to vote for
FINDING NEVERLAND for best film.

Largely on the strength of that cast. Jesus, that was a hell of an ensemble of actors.

As good as Depp was as Barrie, I thought Kate Winslet was a notch better, and the interaction between Julie Christie and the kids was the best that sort of thing has ev3er been done.

I've read for a long time that Julie Christie is one of the most profoundly decent and kind people on earth, and to see her as a stern old bag was a great pleasure.

20. Even the children were great, I agree.
It shows how fantastic a movie can be, even today, without a lot of special effects, violence, are tons of swearing.

14. Absolutely!
Even in a bad movie she's always good! (Wasn't crazy about Titanic overall). She's amazing in Heavenly Creatures and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as well.

15. Russel Crowe will win
for Cinderella man, this year.

Best supporting actor will be his trainer/agent, ie, the guy from Sideways.

No question about it.

17. maveric, your list is solid, but especially Thora Birch.
I don't think she can be stopped.

Two Oscars in the next 8 years is my prediction for her.
