1. Rage Againest the Machine helps with moods
or Jane Siberry if you want to continue the misery

20. Hmmm...I'm in a reflective mood, with some underlying anger (internal)
Not pissed off, just sort of wish I'd done something and kicking myself that I didn't.

27. Johnny Cash -- "Singer of Songs"
I’m not a savior, and I’m not a saint.
The man with the answers I certainly ain’t.
I wouldn’t tell you what’s right or what’s wrong.
I’m just a singer of songs.

But I can take you for a walk along a little country stream.
I can make you see through lovers’ eyes and understand their dreams.
I can help you hear a baby’s laugh and feel the joy it brings.
Yes, I can do it with the songs I sing.
I’m not a prophet, and I’m not a priest.
I’m not a wise man who’s come from the East.
I wouldn’t tell you what’s right or what’s wrong.
I’m just a singer of songs.

But I can take you to a city where a man was crucified.
I can tell you how He lived, and I can tell you why He died.
I can help proclaim the glory of this mighty king of kings.
Yes, I can do it with the songs I sing.
I’m not a great man. I don’t claim to be.
But when I meet my Maker and He questions me,
I won’t hang my head. I’ll stand proud and strong
and say, “I was a singer. Lord, I was a singer.
Yes, I was a singer of songs.”

You could dedicate it to the former Mrs. Cash who passed away on Wednesday, exactly 50 years after giving birth to Rosanne.

15. honestly
it was one bit of music that made me not lose my mind when I moved back to Hoosier land (from DC) in the late 80s. When I found other Costello appreciaters - I knew I had found a small bit of a cosmopolitan world view. And someone with a wicked sense of social irony/humor.

So for other old, but good ideas... Ever hear Joe Jackson's Big World?

I don't think that it has been ever released as a CD - but it is great.

4. You mean a sort of wild and crazy bad mood?
When I get like that, I tend to listen to Ronnie James Dio, Judas Priest, or someone of that ilk. Not sure why, just because I guess. Perhaps I'm just some kind of psycho. Or some kind of something, whatever that means.

7. What kinda mood?
If you are in angry, storm the Bastille type of mood I suggest the Clash. In a quiet reflective mood some blues like Miles Davis should fit the bill.

Their latest cd is called Treble & Tremble. It's very good. Just the right amount of reflectiveness.

33. mingus...Ah um
i'm sure i burned that CD in mp3 format and left it at your place for you (along with some other jazz). search for that cd, pour yourself a cold cerveza or three, maybe imbibe in some other pleasures if you like, and turn on the mingus full blast. then dim the lights, lay back on your couch, close your eyes and travel to a different universe.

Thanks everyone. Luckily my bad moods tend not to last long. I still need to work through some things, but I'm in a better frame of mind.
