1. I am interested only in what Michael Jackson might do if he's found guilty
I simply cannot conceive of him going to prison. Surely, he would skip the country, and then it would get interesting.

2. I actually don't mind hearing about this stuff, but...
Edited on Fri May-27-05 12:54 AM by Midnight Rambler
I don't think it should be the lead story on the news and in the papers. Let Court TV and E cover this trial. Let the tabloids cover it. If the networks feel like they absolutely have to say something about it, then they should put it in the little crawl and that's it.

...unless it's in the context of a discussion on some sort of legitimate topic, like if they were actually talking about pedophilia or the relationship between celebrities and media, stuff like that, or maybe on the off chance that a serious legal issue was raised.

3. Never cared in the first place.
Plenty of suspected child abusers in the world. The difference putting him in the "news" is that he's famous.

18. one of the most popular entertainers in history
millions of people around the world own albums of his---that is what makes it news. It is not often that a man as rich and successful as him is accused of molesting boys several times.

THAT would be something! I'm not sure what the monkey thing is tonight, but I'm sticking with it.

I would have to download the video from the net if it were Leno. That guy gets on my nerves sometimes. What about Monkeys and Streisand? Isn't she part of the trial?

10. It's been dragging on too long.
I wonder what will take place first...the Jackson trial ending, or US troop pullout from Iraq?

14. Shouldn't a quick head count of the 21st century MJ fan club....
...tell the networks something?

Or was he chosen as a media whipping boy who can be assailed without fear of reprisal or backlash?

16. Indeed....That is a possibility
But I'm not sure it deserves 20 minutes on the hour of coverage.

I don't recall wayward Priests attracting such media attention.

Perhaps his "weirdness" makes him more entertaining for the water cooler crowd, therefore a popular choice of pedophile for network "news".

and popular and richest men of his generation. A man that has touched millions and millions of lives with his music, and quite possibly hundreds of little boys in their naughty parts.
