that those hotel key cards (look like credit cards) actually are programmed to leave a record of times you enter hotel room.

WTF is with that?

You give up your right to privacy when you rent a room.

2. Assume that anytime you have an electronic key

or passcode that you are logged. It is done on a computer and easy to write a record. And that record could be a CYA for the business/organization.
