Poll question: Would you change your party affiliation to better your career?
A co-worker of mine mentioned he changed to Independent basically as a career move. Would you or have you changed your political affiliation as a career move? I suppose this could mean changing from dem or to dem depending on your line of work.

I agree. I wouldn't want the job if that was a requisite.
Besides in the age of online tracking of donations, it wouldn't be too hard to figure out where I stand. And I'm not willing to stop supporting candidates and causes that I care about.

But then again, I'm really Mikey Bloomberg.

7. Yes. No sweat.
Nobody knows how I vote. And I would not volunteer to help out with THEIR campaigns... I`d keep doing what I do. Just make more money.

8. Party affiliation shouldn't have any bearing on your career
unless your career is in politics. Was this person planning to run for some sort of office?

11. Government.
Agree. There are plenty of jobs for us (even at high levels) where affiliation is irrelevant.

14. I suppose it's actually the choice to become apolitical.
Donations and participation are nearly as easy to track as registration.

15. Sell my soul (metaphorically speaking) to satan (metaphorically speaking)
just for career advancement?

H*ll (metaphorically speaking) no!

If I were that type I wouldn't have spent nearly two decades working for paltry wages helping people. I would have gotten some exploitative job where I could have made millions off the blood, sweat and tears of others.

I just don't have the stomach to lie, decieve and cheat for my own benefit.

16. No way in hell!
I might downplay my political activities publicly, but no way do I change who I am. I'm a Democrat and proud.
