(((Spoiler)))Post inconstancies with the Star Wars prequels here:
They wrapped up why "3P0" didn't "know" Darth Vader in episodes IV-VI by having the L.A. Law guy erase 3P0's memory, that was pretty sloppy, and R2-D2 and Chewwie don't speak English, but it seems that Luke knew how to communicate with "R2" so why didn't he just tell him that Vader was his father. He really would have saved them a lot of hassle.

1. In one of the first three movies
Probably Episode 6, someone (Luke?) asks Leia if she remember their mother and Leia said something about she just remembered that she seemed sad all the time. How would she remember if Armadilla died in childbirth?

5. That's what I was gonna say.
The force was strong with Leia and allowed her to remember her mother's face.

8. What about Leia saying her mother was beautiful?
Does the force extend to out of body experiences for fetuses?

23. there were no cameras or oil paintings in that far away galaxy?
she could know what her mother looked like without having seen her in person.

(caveat: I don't remember the quote, so if she said something like, "I remember looking into my mother's beautiful face as she held me" then I apologize in advance. :D)

4. Droids get regular memory wipes, actually.
Though the implication was always that Artoo was able to avoid most of that. Perhaps he was "in" on it, much in the way that Kenobi was. On the other hand, he obviously didn't remember or recognize Obi-Wan in Episode IV, since he has to be coaxed out into the open.

6. I hate to say this...
... but R2D2 wasn't terribly upset when all those Jedi died. She always suspected Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda knew this, and might hold it against her... At the heart of it all, R2D2 believed the Force had caused all this trouble in the first place.

9. C-3PO did tell Luke that R2 said he belonged Obi-Wan in Ep IV
I think he means Old Ben Kenobi

11. Why didn't Alec Guiness(Ben Kenobi) acknowledge that then?
Doesn't he say he has never owned a droid? Maybe to "keep the secret" from Luke?

12. R2 was spinning a tale at the beginning.
R2 tricked luke into taking his 'lease' off. But Leia probably gave R2 to Obi Wan as part of the command to send the message.

13. It was technically Anakin's droid, not his.
Kenobi liked to tell "not quite lies" to keep the past hidden from Luke. I mean, he never DID own a droid. From a certain point of view.

20. He didn't- R2 was Padme's droid.
Obi-Wan's droid was R4.

7. Your assuming
that R2 knew Anakin became Vadar, that he knew who Luke was, and that he didn't get a memory wipe. That was at least 17 years (I don't know Lukes age in ANH), a lot of memory for the droid to hold.

14. Vader didn't know about Luke's birth before Padme died and being his son?
How was he able to reveal it to him ESB?

21. The Emperor knew, and told Vader earlier in ESB
However, that scene didn't make into the theatrical version; it's in the DVDs now.

15. Question about the LA Law guy.
Wasn't he on the Jedi council? Then someone was calling him senator, and lastly he's a king (taking the princess home to his wife.)

I may be wrong, because I haven't set down and watched them all over and over.

17. He's Bail Organa,
the Senator representing Alderaan, and one of the founders of the Rebellion.

At the beginning of Episode 4, Organa has presumably been dead for a few years. Leia holds his seat on the Senate, in addition to being an undercover Rebel agent.

22. That is what was lost on me in Episode IV
That Leia was a senator. Even though they say it. It is easier to visualize the Galactic Senate in Ep. I-III.

18. No, he's a senator
And, according to the novelization of "Sith," he's the Prince Consort. His wife is the Queen of Alderaan., not a member of the Jedi Council.

Also in the novelization: Bail Organa is even cooler: he's like the head of an underground resistance. Plus, Padme is much more politically savvy, and smarter all around. She tells Organa he must vote for everything Palpatine wants, so that he won't be suspected as a subversive. That way, he can safely continue to run the Resistance.

As usual, the writing of the novelization isn't great, but they always give a huge amount of back story and stream-of-consciousness.
