1. It matters what you're lubing up
Know-what-I-mean? Know-what-I-mean? Wink-wink. Nudge-nudge. Say-no-more. Sya-no-more.

2. I have a crazy neighbor who is a landscaper...
and he had one of those uncomfortable burning sensations that most folks would use Preperation-H on...

well, he was at work and got the bright idea that since WD40 was a lubricant it might help.

Needless to say...

3. Oh good grief!
No, really?

WD40 is used a lot by cowboys to stop squeaks in their saddles temporarily and also it works well to get burrs out of your horses manes. It also helps to get the tree sap off of your horse.

Hemorrhoids? Yikes.

7. WD-40 isn't truly a lubricant
It's a water displacer. It has some lubricating properties, but will become gummy over time. It's real forte is in rust prevention.

9. I thought its purpose was for dissolving grease
so that you can then reapply new lubricant?

12. It has hundreds of uses.
Dissolving grease may be one of them, although I'd prefer something like brake or carburator cleaner to do that job. There's almost a cult of users out there that continue to find things this stuff will do, over an above what its orignal purpose was.

6. WD-40 is not a lubricant if.......
I'm not mistaken. It is a displacement penetrating oil. That's not the same. It will stop a squek in the short term but it doesn't lubricate like other fluids.
Then again I may be wrong but that is my understanding.

I just normally keep my mouth shut (no pun intended) on these matters most of the time. I'm just feeling like the divorced hussy chick today, so I'm a little... whatever. :)
