If, after dying, you found yourself able to move around and watch...
Edited on Wed May-25-05 10:45 PM by valis
Suppose you could go anywhere really fast, speed of light, and be invisible, and be indestructible.
What/who would you watch? Would you spy on your ex-enemies? Would you keep following your loved ones? Would you go to Mars, just to see how it is like?

4. That's the VERY first thing I thought of.
FREAK his little ass out. Move pictures around, grab the remote out of his hand when he's watching his daily cartoons, shit like that.

Drive him back to hardcore cocaine usage.

6. I'd watch over my husband and kids, without a doubt
Did you read "The Lovely Bones"? The little dead girl in the book watched her family and friends for ten years or so, going back and forth between "earth" and "heaven". A really good book, and not as sad as you'd think.

I didn't get that reference at all, but let it slide.

But please, there is no Steve Miller Band in my bibliotheca.

13. Shit you caught me.
Your response made me think of the song "Fly Like an Eagle," which laugh as you will, I found rather inspiring as a kid (feed the babies
who don't have enough to eat, shoe the children with no shoes on their feet, house the people livin' in the street--oh, oh, there's a solution).

And my addled brain went straight to The Eagles. And you caught my edit, damn you.

No Steve Miller Band? That's it, we cannot carry on an illicit internet affair. Sorry!

:D

19. Yes they are
:-)

Not as mutually exclusive as COltrane and Kenny G; or Coltrane and Billy Joel; or Coltrane and Carrie The Whore From American Idol.

But still mutually exclusive.

23. I.....I.....I don't think I know you after all.
(backing away slowly...)

I enjoy FAR too many genres and artists to say I can't have the Steve Miller Band AND Coltrane. Or John Denver AND Mozart. Van Morrison and Vivaldi.

Bob Marley and the Dresden Dolls. I could go on and on. 50 Cent and Billie Holiday.

The Wallets and Gesualdo.

Cream and Tan Dun.

:-)

Nah, I'm just not really a Steve Miller fan. He's not bad, just not my style. I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it, but I wouldn't ask that it be turned off, either.

29. Well on my deathbed I won't be requesting it or anything.
Just have some decent memories with a few of the songs. And truth be told, I don't own a single Steve Miller Band CD.

But I think I have an old heat-warped tape of his somewhere in this house.

Now you admit to the same state of sans Steve-Miller-album existence.

Bah! I say. BAH!! In fact, double BAH!!

Is the old warped tape an 8-track, perchance?

I remember eight tracks, but by the time I was a teenager they were gone. I had albums and tapes.

27. Hey, lookit that
Heidi Klum is taking a shower.

Really, I think there would be some really cool dead people to hang out with. Why watch the living if you are powerless to help them (or thwart their nefarious schemes)? I'd like to find one of my great-great-great grandfathers and wish him a happy birthday today. He's 194. Then I could look up my immigrant ancestors and find out where they were from.

34. I'd explore the universe and discover all its mysteries
Edited on Thu May-26-05 09:20 AM by Seabiscuit
Of course, I'd have to be able to travel many times the speed of light to do that, but I'd also have to put on the brakes periodically too.

I'd also time-travel (badkwards, at least) to witness all aspects of the evolution of our solar system and life on earth (as well as the big bang, the formation of stars, etc.

It might take a while, but I'd have all the time in the world and then some. :)
