Worker Strike Threatens Beer Supply In St. Louis
<snip>

ST. LOUIS -- A strike threatens to leave beer-loving St. Louis dry of its favorite brews.

Workers for Lohr Distributing Company walked off the job Sunday night after working without a contract since February. Since Lohr distributes Budweiser, Bud Light and other Anheuser-Busch products in the city, deliveries to retailers, taverns and even Busch Stadium have been disrupted -- and just as the Memorial Day weekend approaches.

A Teamsters spokesman said Lohr demands that the drivers pay higher health care deductibles and accept lower commissions. He's also asking consumers to boycott Anheuser-Busch products inside the St. Louis city limits for as long as the strike lasts.

He said, however, that the ballpark won't run out of Busch beer. No word on specifics though.
