I just watched "Riding Giants" Now I wanna be a professional surfer!

Seriously, it's a pretty good movie. It makes me want to just hang out on the beach all day!

1. Check out "Step Into Liquid"

It's a really good surfing documentary, with surfer dudes older than you and me put together. :)

2. Check out Endless Summer, then any other Bruce Brown film

from the old days . . . go back to the roots and do some soul surfing :)

4. Did you see Endless Summer II? There was some guy (in Aurstralia, I

believe) who was a kid in the first one, and the new surfers retaced the path of the old film, so they visit him. He's ancient! All those days in the sun!

5. Yup . . . and they ruined that point break in SA that was so damned

perfect. Those freakin' lefts peeling off perfectly smooth for a mile or so :) I would've loved to have ridden that place before it was ruined by development.

6. It's been a few years since I've seen either movie...have to re-rent

them to see which part you're talking about!

7. The one they call the perfect wave after they hike up the sand dunes

and ride their boards down the sand on the other side and find literally the perfect wave (for a longboarder anyway). 4-6 foot, peeling perfectly not too steep and just a looooooooooong, mellow ride. I was drooling :)

Really, that movie (Giants) makes me want to be a kid again and just be a bum! Although the guy at the end says there are no surf bums--since it's a religion!

3. I'll have to go rent that...it kills me when I see guys older than dirt

still surfing. Good for them, though.
