Gezzzzz Louise, I need a sesious ear and mind bath

So I got a call earlier today from a buddy that runs one of the local studios here. He had been working on a project for some band that needed a bit of keyboard help to finish out the sound. He said "its no big thing... just come in and do some southern-rock organ and piano.... maybe a lead or two"....

Sure I said, how much. We negotiated price and I was at the studio promptly at 7:00 and ready to go by 7:30. The guys looked kind of like bikers so I figured, what the hell, I'll do my best Billy Powell and see what I can do to help them out.

Well....to make a long story short... it was a fucking Christian southern rock band.
Now I know I should not bitch, after all I did get paid. But gezzzzz... it was painful.

I mean really painful most likely the worst 4 hours I have ever spent in a session.
I need a serious ear and mind bath.... a little sympathy would be good too, but I realize that is asking a lot around here *LOL.

unless it was "revival" from the Alman brothers and you played your heart out. The things we do for money are just plain obscene. No fault of your own, just the way things are these days.

I'm no Chuck Leavell, but I did 'em right in terms of "the sound". *grin. I finally had to tell the engineer to take the vocals out of my mix... way to many Gods, Mountains, and Battles in those lyrics.

Point in case... one song was about the "coming battle" with people who "don't know the way".... *grrrrrrrr...Now I am getting all torqued again. Kind of scary really considering the many threads I have seen here about "us vs them".
