Has anyone besides me noticed a LOT of
military war plane "practicing" around their area too lately? Like way more than normal. I'm in NC. I just wanted to know if any other states had any alert liberals/progressives who had noticed this too. For the last 2 weeks, there have been lots of jets and cargo planes flying over my place. I'm talking 8 of them in a row and then back again. And there have been a lot of munitions going off. The other night, all I could do was read the closed captioning on the television because the constant loud thuds kept me from hearing it.

I don't have the cable news networks and I'm in a tough semester at college this time around. Who is Bush pounding his chest at right now? I wonder? We might be going to war again soon if this keeps up.

5. Iran won't happen until the fall.
For a strictly tactical reason. Most of our troops have night vision gear and for the most part, the Iranian army does not. More hours of darkness= an advantage.

7. Thanks.
I haven't been able to keep up with the news like I like to. I thought maybe he'd go there next. I'd be willing to bet he starts working this up into a tither again for a new country to invade. I hope he at least looks for a new reason instead of a 20 year old one this time.

someone here posted a link to an editorial saying Iran would be invaded in June.

2. No increase in activity in my neck of the woods.
There were lots of planes flying around after 9/11, but that tapered off a long time ago.

3. It's been like that here in San Diego since the 1960s
I have spent much of my life living, going to school, and working due west of Miramar Marine Corps Air Station, which was until a few years ago NAS Miramar and then home of the famous Top Gun air combat school.

4. Interesting you should say this because I've noticed
more cargo type helicopters flying over my place, just outside of Philly.

8. I'm getting 8 of them going
one direction then coming back in just a few minutes. We live about 60 miles from Fort Bragg, but usually don't see this much activity. Normally, we only see or hear about 2 or 3 when they are practicing.

6. I get buzzed every night.......
by c-130's from the Nashville air guard. It seems to have tapered off lately. Maybe they all went over to N.C.?

9. Curious.
It seems like they are gearing up for something over here. This is way more than normal activity for this area.

10. I've noticed a change of flight patterns here too...
The military helicopters rattle my house. They've been flying in formation and even without ANY military experience I know they're not civilian just by that.

:scared:

11. I live near an air force base
and I've been home the last 3 weeks durring the day, so I've noticed it. Personally I'm not a big military fan, so it bugs me every time I hear one of those jets fly by.

12. YES. I Live In The Flight-Path of Every Kind of Aircraft....
...you can imagine, (and more).
Activity has increased, and aircraft violate our airspace daily.

13. You know, now that you mention it...
Just the other day boyfriend and I were outside and I heard a plane flying pretty close to us and low (never saw it though, trees in the way). We do have a local airport nearby, but this didn't sound like the sort of aircraft we have coming through there. *shrugs* Then again, I'm only a couple of hours away from Shaw AFB.

That's the only thing I've noticed, and I grew up here so it's not all that unusual for that to happen from time to time.

15. A few weeks ago
I saw some HUGE mysterious black helicopters flying by downtown. i didn't know what kind they were until a coworker informed me they were army. they were flying really low, and they were super loud, much more so than the average police or news chopper.

16. We get the occasional pair of MC-130s going over at about
300 feet, with only their formation lights on.
