I saw Howard Dean last night
I sing in the National Philharmonic Chorale and we perform at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD. Last night, we had a rehearsal, with the orchestra, for this Saturday's sold out concert. Also last night, the Maryland Democratic Party held a fund raiser at Strathmore. As the wife (another singer) and I looked for a parking place, we saw a oddly grinning guy, dressed a little scraggly, holding a handmade sign, scribbled on a broken-down cardboard box, that said - "The DNC is corrupt" I say to myself, is this a disgruntled leftie or bizarre Moran???? We drive around and finally find a place to park, and walk up to Strathmore, through some very nice fields (soon to be townhomes, damn) and hear all sorts of cheering. There are numerous signs for Doug Duncan and Chris Van Hollen dotting the landscape. Duncan will be running for Governor - his main Democratic opponent will be Martin O'Malley-Mayor of Baltimore. Van Hollen is our Representative and is mulling over a possible senate bid. So, I figured it out, but didn't know Dean was around.

So, we're in the concert hall and the fundraiser is in the lobby area. About a half hour into the rehearsal, some folks, led by Duncan, start quielty and respectfully looking around this absolute jewel of a public works project. They start sitting down to listen to us rehearse. I look out, and I see Howard Dean, which was nice, but he didn't linger very long.......
