Kitten Emergency Question
So, we take the three female cats to be spayed. ( They are all recovering nicely to my relief.) We almost didn't take one of the gals, because we were worried she had given birth.

But her only other litter died shortly after birth ( this female was the runt and a little smallish, which is why we hung on to her) and we had seen no evidence of babies. She wanted inside the last time she birthed.

So yesterday my daughter hears a small yowl and crawls under the trailer to investigate, and returns with three kittens! They were up in the insulation for two days alone!

They are nursing and mama is very happy, but if her milk doesn't come back in, what can I mix up to feed these babies? They appear to be around three weeks old.

Any suggestions are appreciated. :hi:

3. Awwwww. You can get kitten formula at the pet store and bottle

feed them if mama cat can't do it herself. It's not too expensive.

Note: If you bottle feed them, they will bond with you and may very well become the most loving kittens you ever encounter.

11. That is so true! I found my two cats when they were two weeks
old. The mother had been locked out of the house under construction where she gave birth, so I think she gave them up as dead. I took them home and fed them kitten formula with a tiny little bottle. They totally bonded with me. One died two years ago at the age of ten but one is still with me and is the sweetest, friendliest cat ever! Everyone that has ever met them is astounded by them. Good luck!

4. I'm no expert
but I think you can get kitten formula from the vet. A lot of the folks over in the Pets Group have actually fostered kittens. I suggest you PM Lorien for advice.

8. Thanks guys
we have the most laid back cats on the planet. None of them are afraid of people, but we live back in the woods so they aren't threatened by cat-hating psychopaths. The kittens get so much loving around here, and even though I am trying to be responsible, it is fun to see the little cuties. Two are black and one is grey and they are remarkably strong for their ordeal!

I will check out the formula. So far they seem satisfied. I just wanted to be ahead of the game in case she can't meet their nutritional needs. I didn't know you could get formula and little bottles. Ain't progress cool?

Thanks agin guys. I now have to take care of some of my other animals so everyone have a fabulous day!!!! :grouphug:

9. We raised 3 week old abandoned kittens...
There are a couple of mother's milk substitutes available in pet stores. We found some at a Pooch & Kitty store. They also sell small nursing bottles. I found that I had to make the hole in the nipple larger so that the tiny things could suck the formula out. Help them by squeezing the bottle gently until they get the hang of it. You can email me directly: dd2x14@yahoo.com.
