Cholesterol 900 plus
Went to visit a good friend of mine yesterday. He has cholesterol levels 900 plus and Triglycerides in the thousands! A month ago he had a carotid artery roto-rootered. The docs said his blood was a milky pink from all the fats in it.

I worry about him!!!

1. This program works
But it takes discipline and a complete change of lifestyle.

3. Yes...
He' had a heart attack 4 years ago too. They just can't get it down. It explains why all the men in his family die young!

7. It's possible, my husbands cholesterol was over 700
and his triglycerides were over 3000. He was immediately put in ICU (15 years ago) and now is on lots of meds. Has diabetes. His blood was a beige color the doc said. Also he said he never saw anything that high EVEN in med school.

Now both stay in the 300 to 400 range.

8. OMG!
That's horrible. But I don't think drugs are enough or always the answer.

What does he eat? How much does he weigh? How often does he exercise?

Mine was 260 three years ago and through dietary (became a vegetarian and try to eat only whole grains) and exercise changes, I just tested at 136 — and all that's without drugs.

I hope he's making the necessary lifestyle changes as well as take the drugs. That's tough to watch. Keep encouraging him.
