Can you ask a mortgage company to not pay one month?
Someone told me that most mortgage companies will give you one month that you don't have to pay and they will tag it on to the end of your loan.
Anyone ever hear of that before?

1. I've seen "free months" offered on seconds...
but, never on a mortgage.

2. Sure you can ask them, why not?
I recently asked if mine could change my due date from the 21st of the month to the 1st, it was done with no problem.

4. depends on the mortage company..
you`ll get a bad credit score for doing it. if you are behind try to make up the payment before the next one is due. they may tack it on the end of the loan but that credit score will be there to. my s&l waits a year before dropping the late payment score

5. Oh, and speaking of mortgage payments - mine just went up.
Property taxes. There was a shortfall in the escrow account to pay the taxes (which went up this year), so I now have to pay extra each month to make up the shortfall and also get it back on track for next year's taxes. It's only $35 per month, but still.

6. Yeah, mine has gone up a few times too
I should have never bought a house, but oh well..I did.
I am up to date on my payments, it's just that someone mentioned that to me, and I was curious if anyone ever heard of that before.

9. Mine went up for the same reason-escrow shortfall-
and I still had to make what amounts to an additional mortgage payment to get it back in line. Makes me wonder how we'll get screwed next year.

8. I Recently Got a Grace Period of 17 Days
from Bank of America. Although one reason was that BoA made some last-minute demands on another loan I was taking out.
