FUCK lady. Get off your bloody cell phone and drive. RANT
Imagine 4 lanes merging into 1, around a corner and onto a bridge. And the traffic gods were toying with us, so the cars were actually moving and not at a dead stop.

If everyone had played nicely, alternated and payed attention there would have been no problem. But there was this lady, who was yattering on her cell phone. We're at the point where we HAVE to merge. She's ahead of me and comes to a complete stop halfway into my lane. I slammed on my breaks and came within in inches of hitting the side of her car. The SUV behind me, practically kissed my bumper.

At this point she still doesn't even realize she's causing a problem - she's still yattering. I gave my horn a little work-out and she almost dropped her phone BUT continued to sit there like a dummy. I honked again, gestured in a way to make my Italian relatives proud, and she finally got moving.

Lady, when merging into another lane, coming to a DEAD STOP is really not your best strategy. Oh, and if you must stop for some reason - STAY IN YOUR OWN LANE. And last, but not least. PAY ATTENTION!

Thank you. I feel better.

1. I've posted it before and I'll post it again:
People who talk on their cell phones while driving are selfish, irresponsible fuckwits. We all have to share the road, goddamnit, and if you can't be a decent enough person to do that--by, you know, REMAINING FOCUSED ON THE TASK OF OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE YOU ARE BEHIND ITS WHEEL--maybe you should look into public transportation.

2. Exactly - Here Here !!!
I would like to add, I don't want to hear another fuckwits conversation when I am eating, standing in line, going to the grocery store, waiting for my flight, or for that matter any time I happen to be breathing and my heart is beating. What has gotten into people that they are so self-important? *geeeezzzzzz
I just want to scream..... I don't care what you are saying.. take it somewhere private.

*grrrrrrrrr

3. i can't stand it when people are
in the supermarket on the phone deciding what to have for dinner with that person!

same for the video store - "what do you want to watch tonight? well, in new releases are <lists movies>."

that makes me crazy.

my daughter called me yesterday when i was in wal mart. i felt like such a hypocrite! i had to put down my anti-freeze to answer the thing, then find out where she was to go pick her up, and discuss clothes to wear. i felt like i was being spied on! lol

4. "Take it somewhere private," indeed. Especially if the topic is
extremely personal. I really, really don't need to hear the twenty-something Republican behind me explaining in graphic detail to her best friend what the results of her last fertility work-up showed. What is it about the cellphone that makes people think they can pretend they're alone when they aren't? What is that magical effect the device has on so many citizens? I swear, it's something that only started to get this bad once the phones became uber-compact--I don't remember cell users behaving this badly back when their phones were the size of small cats.

12. Fuckwit here who is still going to take the call from my kid letting me
know where she is...even if I can't pull over. Sorry, I cannot condemn that which I know nothing about. Sure there are a lot of people who are incessantly talking on the cell, and then there are those who are speaking with children, or other situations...so I cannot condemn them. :hi:

6. I hate fuckwits that as soon as they put their car in gear, they pick up
the fucking cellphone and make a call. Backing up, going straight, whatever! Its the first fucking thing they do when their vehicle is moving!
They are FUCKWITS!!

7. I heard on the local news that that's illegal in Chicago.
No more talk and drive. And if you've ever driven in Chicago, you'd understand why. (Half of them drive up here in the summer)

8. It's amazing what people do in the car.
There are people in Seattle that can have one hand on the wheel, a cell phone illegally held between the cheek and the neck, and the other hand switching between sandwiches, makeup, and Starbucks. And you know you're behind a winner, when they weave between the lines.

An accident waiting to happen. Checking lipstick or taking a sip during a red light or heavy traffic is one thing. However, contortionists on the freeway are disturbing.

9. I have a theory about _some_ folks and their cell phones.
My theory is that some people talk incessantly on their cell phones in public places to demonstrate how indispensable they are to their bosses, employees, families, SOs, etc.

The interesting thing is, those who truly are indispensable to their families, businesses, etc., actually _turn off_ their cell phones in public places.

Just an observation.

10. I would not assume all cell phone calls are real
My thoughts are that half or so of
people in public, talking to a cell phone,
are just pretending to be making a call,
with the intention of bothering others,
or trying to appear important

11. I had a similar problem
When I had a car. It used to die every time I stopped. It would start right up, but when put into drive it would die. So I am at this light, unable to move through several cycles. I put my emergency flashers on and cars go around me.
Then this woman pulls up right behind me. The light is green, but she is sitting right behind me. What is up with that? So it turns red again and then green. So midway through the green, I try my car again. It goes about half a foot and then dies. Then - wham! Lady behind me bangs into me - WTF? Ever hear of the two second rule?
Well, it does not help that she is on a cell phone and too distracted to either see emergency flashers or the color of a traffic signal.
