Music artists you didn't expect to like, but did

I thought that Lennon Murphy's 5:30 Saturday Morning CD would be too metal for me, but it turns out that it's hard rock with a few death metal flourishes. It's a good CD, and would be better without those flourishes, because they don't fit. Her lyrics are not aggressive or cheesy. In fact, they aren't any angrier than what you hear from Alanis, and they also express a vulnerability. She's made her naturally pretty self out to look like a rocker, but that doesn't equate to metal.

System Of A Down is harder than what I normally listen to, but I found that I can just turn the volume down a little and enjoy. Love their lyrics.

Wasn't sure I'd like Stella Soleil after her single "Kiss Kiss," but she became a huge guilty pleasure. I love it.

Don't like rap, but I find myself enjoying Eminem and Nelly sometimes.

I thought she would be a britney rip off or some type of pop queen. I was surprised to find some good rock and blues music with very thoughtful lyrics.

7. When Nirvana first hit

I saw a bit of the video for "Smells like Teen Spirit" and I thought it wouldn't be worth it for me to listen to the album. I did, and loved it.
