1. it's better than it used to be
They used to put one in EVERY TIME YOU EDITED. Now it's just the current edit.

12. forgot about that...
for the poor typists who also don't catch everything on re-read... there could be four or five edit lines - all within a two minute period.

5. Or what if you're post was a response to another post
And then a few minutes later, you realize you need to add something to it, but when you do, you're not sure if that person has already read the post pre-edit.

13. for that
I add the words "on edit" before the new text - and often in paren will summarize the reasons ... eg., On Edit (for clarity) inserted new text here...

Then if someone responds to preedit - can respond with a request to reread as I had added a little more to the post.

7. Have we always had the 'edited' line?
Seems like people used to edit their posts to change what they had said so people responding would look like blinkin' idiots.

They would say something outrageous and then change it and be like...who me? What did I say?

Am I making that up?

And yes, I hate that line cause it usually mean I left out a word or mistryped something. :)

9. It means you
proof read. Every once in a while, a post comes along, that's pretty hard to decipher.

10. Most of the time I proof a response...
but not always.

My aging brain just wants to hit that 'Post Message' button and be done with it.

I usually spell check, but again, not always.

I did for this post tho...hehe

11. I'm glad for it....
Yeah, it's annoying when it's just a typo, but it also allows you to see if people are editing or self-deleting things to make others look bad, etc.
