Do you think home computers will, as with corporate WANs, become thin?
Aka thin clients?

With licensing schemes such as Microsoft's "software assurance", which compels people to keep paying for it otherwise they lose it? And despite getting told they'd be able to get free upgrades, not one single upgrade has come out of microsoft since office 2003 in 2002?!

Fucking fleecers.

Open source is the only way, in the long run, if you want distributed computing.

If you think that activation policies and such are an annoyance now, just wait.

And they'll find more ways to fleece you too.

In an age of decay, they will be doing this.

2. Mind controlled
Windows will be opened, functions will be commanded, and text will be typed with just mental thought energy. Our monitors will be 3D holograms floating in space and follow us wherever we go, if we so desire. They will be as big as as drive-in movie, if we want.

B-)

3. you answered your question
Windows and Everquest will become the same game. It's "thin" as in "thin veneer of control over your own computer".
