I first realized I was a Zappaphile when I heard this album for the first time...I still think it's one of his best. He didn't do studio productions in the later era often enough for my tastes.

did on the albums with all the overdubs.

Personally, I like the live albums best; but I'm that way with all bands. I like to hear how they play "for real", as opposed to how they can do it in the studio.

But especially for Zappa, to hear his incredible bands play his music live - wow! And I think his soloing is better on the live albums as well (or on the studio albums when he used live solos, like that melange that makes the PHENOMENAL solo for "Yo Mama")
