Need help with a potluck:
There will be about 8 of us. Someone is making Lasagna another one bringing big salad. I know we will bring bread-but what else? I'm on a tight schedule too. Please list your favorite potluck dishes-appetizers included.

:hi:

3. For that dinner, I would get prosciutto from a deli
and cantelope and wrap the prosciutto in slices of the cantelope..that would go well with lasagne and salad and it is very refreshing and not time consuming

for a reasonable price!

on edit..and if you wanna make it a bit fancy get some chives (NOT GREEN ONIONS) and tie the prosciutto to the melon with a strip of chive...adds color and a bit of flavor :D

4. Quesadillas
Two tortillas - put cheese, meat, lettuce, tomato, and whatever other veggies ou want in between them. Make several - they stack nicely. Microwave them when you get to the dinner. Doesn't have to be hamburger or chicken for the meat either. Cut up some ham or turkey cold cuts.

White - not red - wine goes best with this elegant but simple dish.

7. I posted this in the Cooking group a while back: Grape Jelly Meatballs
You need:

1 - bag of frozen meatballs
1 (or 2) - bottles of Heinz chili sauce
1 - medium/large jar of grape jelly

Put all ingredients into a crock pot and cook on High for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally. The chili sauce and grape jelly melt into a tangy barbeque sauce. The more chili sauce, the tangier it will be.

It's great for a work potluck; you just plug in the crock pot when you come in, and by lunch it's ready.

Twice baked potatoes are cheap, easy, and impressive. Plus they look good and look like a ton of labor.

Tonight stick four potatoes in the oven and bake them until they're soft.

Let them cool over night.

Cut them in half and scoop out the middle making sure you don't tear the skin.

stick the potato in a bowl, throw in melted butter, sourcream, chives, salt and pepper and mix/blend/mash what ever you prefer. You can also add bacon or whatever you want.

throw the mixture back into the potato skins, top with cheddar, bake until the cheddar has melted

it costs about $5 to make a bunch of them, they're good, and they go with anything everyone else brings.

good luck!
