as that there has been a change in the Lounge recently.

Can't put my finger on exactly the cause, but there it is.

Some folks do need thicker skin, that's true. Hell, I've been insulted by the best here, but I rarely ever alert on anyone because I'm a grown up. I can hold my own. I've been pissy to others as well, but we've worked it out and carry on as fellow posters.

There is more to it than just a feeling of exclusion, which frankly, you just have to get used to until more people get to know you. It is something else, but I can't think of the Pink Floyd song that actually expresses it....

MORE POSTERS.

Way back when, the lounge moved a bit more slowly and threads would hang around for days. As time has gone on and DU has grown...some threads get bitten but for the most part there's kind of been a morning shift and an afternoon and evening shift and it's much more pronounced with things falling off faster.

I've been around long enough to see loads of hard feelings come and go and loads of helpful empathetic moments as well.

That does not negate the fact that a couple things will always happen:

1) If someone starts a thread BEGGING for a fight they will get it.

2) If they do it over and over..no one is going to want to relate to them..or at least fewer people will.

3) some posts will be responded to and some posts won't.

One other point is that no one should be made to feel guilty for conversing with people they have come to know and recognize.

IF one is at a party with 1000 people and is talking to no one..odds are the problem rests with the 1 person..not the other 999.
