Bleh...Coke with Lime sucks.
I thought it would be tangier rather than sweet.

22. This is all I need to know about aspartame.
Aspartame was passed despite FDA scientists' disapproval by a significant force in politics: Donald Rumsfeld.

When we started the documentary, "Sweet Misery", we did not know that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld was the CEO of Searle at the time aspartame was approved. Not until our first interview with Dr. Jim Bowen.

According to a G.D. Searle's salesperson, Patty WoodAllott, Donald Rumsfeld stated "he would call in all his markers and that no matter what, he would see to it that aspartame be approved this year."

This interview with consumer attorney Jim Turner reveals how Donald Rumsfeld "called in his markers" as part of Reagan's transition team in 1981. Here is why G.D. Searle felt compelled to reapply for aspartame's approval one day after Reagan's inauguration.

I avoid it like the plague.

11. You can still get it around Passover (the corn syrup's not kosher)
They make limited amounts with sugar a few weeks before Passover. Kust look for the "kosher" symbol (the little "K" in a circle)...otherwise the cans look the same.

12. I tried Pepsi lime
eeeeeeeew!:puke: It's like drinking battery acid!

What I always wondered is, with cherry, vanilla, lemon, lime, & cherry vanilla flavored sodas out there now, why haven't they gone with the obvious choice of grape flavor?

The diet Dr. Pepper Cherry Vanilla is excellent! It's my choice soda now. I also like Mountain Dew Livewire too which is back now for the summer.

16. Have you tried C2? It's awesome!
I am a freaking cokehead, but I've been getting too wide in the middle lately. But how can I give up my beloved American Champaign?

Then along came C2. Ha;f the calories and carbs, but it doesn't taste like a chemical spill ... it tastes like real coke. I really like it.

18. It tastes like Lime Pledge to me
I thought I would love Diet Coke with Lime, especially since in my teen years my friends and I were quite fond of Tab with lime slices squeezed in.

I tried the Diet Pepsi with Lime last weekend, and it too is terrible.

I am a Diet Pepsi person, not a Diet Coke person (Pepsi just tastes better, less sweet), so it was a bit disappointing that the lime Pepsi was awful too.

I do like Diet Pepsi Twist (with lemon).

Conclusion: Lime in a soft drink just doesn't package or travel well. Lemon works much better.

Addendum: noticed that Diet Coke with Splenda is now available. Looking forward to Diet Pepsi with Splenda.

Oh, yeah, and I still drink Tab upon occasion :-)

19. Try giving up sweetened sodas and drinks for a year.
Or hell even a couple of months. I stopped eating almost all process sugar, and corn syrup. I eat sugar free candy, cakes, and drink mostly water, unsweetened tea etc. To be honest it really hurt me bad for the first month.......man you would never know how bad sugar withdraw is until you suffer it. At any rate these days all sodas are waaaaaaaay to sickeningly sweet, or anything with much sugar.

I often thought viewing those commercials that the strong spicy nature of Coke would not blend well with lime, and you know they used some awful fabricated semi lime junk for flavor anyway. As far as Pepsi with lemon i tried that here in N.C. when it came out sometime over a yr ago, horrible stuff. The former posters remark of lemon Pledge was right on the mark. Funny thing was, yrs ago when i lived in Fla. in the 70's they had Pepsi with lemon there back then. It was quite common in fact, and i do not remember it being so bad then. Maybe it was the type of lemon flavoring used, what i tried here tasted soooooo artificial.
