I make sure they're totally dry, then I do a light coat of canola oil, bake at 350 or so.

2. Don't wrap them in foil- they steam that way
just prick them and bake them on the rack

Also sprinkle them with kosher salt , then bake. It gives them a wonderful flavor.

Pierce the skins with a fork, rub in vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake directly on the rack of 400 degree oven for 40-50 minutes, depending on size. The oil makes them crispy.

7. I swear you guys are mind readers
I had a crispy baked potato tonight! 5 minutes in the microwave, 10-15 minutes in the oven at 525 degrees. Gives it that nice dark brown inner skin.

You rub the potatoes with a good olive oil, and then roll it in kosher salt. Bake it at 350 for 30 minutes, then pierce the potatoes with a fork two or three times. Bake for another 30 minutes. Brush the remaining salt off the skins. You're about to enjoy the best baked potato you ever had. Now I'm hungry ..................

9. Damn, and I'm out of butter.
I've been too lazy to go to the store all day, and this is my punishment. Rest assured tomorrow will be baked potato day.

you don't need butter. They're so good. Just a spit of salt. God, I'm really hungry now.
