the best restroom in America is in Fort Smith, Arkansas
CINCINNATI, OH - The finest restroom in America is at the airport in Fort Smith, Arkansas - says the Internet public who cast online ballots in the 4th annual “America’s Best Restroom” contest presented by Cincinnati-based Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS), a leading provider of restroom hygiene products and services.

The 2005 contest attracted nominations from businesses, theaters, and community colleges to hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, and airports. Ten finalists were selected based on exceptional hygiene, style and open access to the public.

Thousands of voters logged onto www.bestrestroom.com to participate. The top five finishers included:

“The important message here is restroom hygiene matters - for good health and good business," said Kirk Kirssin, Cintas Director of Marketing. "People form perceptions about the way companies do business based on a simple trip to the restroom. That’s something Cintas helps thousands of customers manage. Cintas is proud to honor the Fort Smith Regional Airport, and we congratulate all of our participants and winners this year."

1. I hear that the ladies bathroom at the Grand Casino in Biloxi, MS, is...
one of the best. I think it's the Grand, but it's one of the coastal casinos.

You've got my interest tweaked...I'm going to have to do a search and see what I find.

:hi:

5. Indeed, it is the Grand Casino Ladie's Room. Best of the Best.

America's Best Restroom II, presented by Cintas

The Grand Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi (at right), has been named the nation’s finest restroom as voted on by the Internet public in America’s Best Restrooms II, presented by Cintas. The restroom topped a list of finalists representing various states including California, Mississippi, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.

(At right: Duncan McKenzie accepts the award from Cintas Marketing manager Mike Wallner and Survey Editor Dan Cawley. Below: a proud casino worker shares the moment. See the winner's site at www.grandbiloxi.com.)

“Our guests have known for a while about the wonderfully decorated ladies’ restroom we have. Now with this award, we hope ladies nationwide will visit us to see why we were voted The Best Restroom in the U.S.A,” said Duncan McKenzie, General Manager of Grand Casino Biloxi. “It’s a beautiful restroom, definitely the talk of the town and well worth the million dollars we spent on creating it. We may have to start giving tours for the gentlemen so they don’t feel left out!”

7. hey Maddy!
About a year ago, me and a buddy headed out to the Grand, but about 100 miles down the road we decided we didn't really have enough money to do any gambling, and turned around and went home and got drunk instead. So I didn't get to see it. Damn it. Maybe we'll make it out there just to pee one day. ;)

4. Notice that pretty well much all of these are Women's rooms..

We guys aren't that discriminating. Just give us tiolets to shit in, Urinals to piss in, some sinks, soap, mirror, and a place to dry our hands (when using the back of our pants proves unfeasable), and we're good to go...

Though for one of the largest urinals in the midwest, stop by the Glarner Stube in New Glarus, WI. It's like draining the lizard into a giant porcelain sarcophagus! They even sell postcards of this monstrosity in the restauraunt!

And, there's also something specail for the women, at this establishment, as well....

8. The best restrooms are in Vegas and Aspen
I was in one in an Aspen hotel that had full amenities in every stall. Sink, toilet, bidet, grooming stuff, magazines, flowers.. Each stall was about 100sf of pure bathroom bliss.

15. A Southerner more out of habit than by nature.
Yes, we should take our glories where we can.

I'm a Southerner because that's who I am. And I'm determined to improve the little corner of the South that I inhabit. And I know you are too.

19. Oh, I'm not ashamed of being a Southerner.
I'm just ashamed of a lot of the other people who aren't ashamed to be Southerners.

God, I hope Roy Moore isn't elected governor of my state. I'm going to take every legal and ethical measure to ensure that he isn't.

18. The best public restroom I ever used...
At a convenience/bait store called Coop's near my high school. It's near the park and I had to desperately use the bathroom one day. I went into this dingy cesspool, grease that had dripped off the mini tacos and chicken fries congealing on the floor. The offending odor of chum buffeting my nostrils.

Truly, I thought, the bathroom is repulsive.

I wrestled with the shoddy doorknob and entered. I sighed and flipped on the light, expecting to hear a scuttling sound. No, my friends. I inhaled a fruity and pleasant scent. Lemony fresh, some might say. The toilet glistened with white porcelin, the sink fresh and dry. The tile, well mopped. A buck white tail deer stood watch over this Shangri-La of relief from it's lithograph over the commode.

I did my business and reached for the tissue. Not one ply, but two! With quilted softness I cleaned myself and flushed away the only dirty thing in the room. The sink's water was the perfect temperature as I washed my hands with dial anti-bacterial pumped from a clean receptacle. Paper towels wicked the leftover moisture from my hands as I left.

It was glorious, my friends. Glorious.
