Did he look into any foreign hospitals? Thailand has a world class hospital that costs on average an eighth as much.

One of our DUers was able, to get Andy into Johns Hopkins. This is the best venue for Andy and it's nothing short of miraculous that we've gotten this far.

What I understand is that this procedure is only done in a very few hospitals. And this is the best opportunity to help save his life. This can also be a venue to show how National Health Care is sorely needed.

There are far too many Americans that are denied life saving procedures due to the inability to pay for it...how much is a human life? It is truly sad in one of the wealthiest countries in the world.

..with what Andy has.

And when it comes to your own life, I'd rather stick with what is the best than to trust something overseas.

21. 'Best' according to some kind of objective evaluation or just someone's

opinion. Either way there's a degree of trust involved when you make a healthcare decision. Since some overseas hospitals, which employ US trained and US board certified doctors, can give care as good as or better than many US hospitals at a fraction of the cost, for my personal healthcare I would at least look into one rather than dismiss the thought out of hand, particularly if we're talking $50k.

But that's just me.
