"You better put me in time out"
Thus sayeth my five year old the other day as he came into the bathroom while I was taking a shower.

Knowing this can't be anything but bad, I grabbed a towel and went to see what was up. A quick trip to the kitchen where I stepped in something simultaneously slick and sticky confirmed that I'd made the right choice.

Me: "What happened here?"

Him: "I dropped the egg."

Sure enough I followed the trail of slime from the fridge and there beneath the kitchen table was a pile of paper towels and some shells.

Seeing that he couldn't get rid of the evidence he'd opted to 'fess up and get a lighter sentence. :^D

3. That's so cute.
I miss those days when my son was little and said things like that.

He still can be pretty amusing, though.

16. That's sooo cute. Play egg toss outside with him
We used to play egg toss when my son was about this age. Take raw eggs outside and toss them back and forth. Eventually they drop, sometimes they break, sometimes they don't. They don't break often on grass. It is very fun and quite cheap entertainment.

take all the fun out of it? *l*

20. How adorable
When my son was about that age, he was persecuting his older sisters one day. Finally, my oldest daughter had enough and she told him, "I'm telling!"

Not to be outdone, he cried, "No, you aren't! I'M telling!" He then ran into the house and began to "tell", only to realize about halfway through that he was telling on himself!

It was so cute - very hard not to laugh.

If you spill your guts, mommy has a hard time doling out punishment when she's laughing.

23. Heh, I came home one day from work
And my 3 year old daughter was standing plastered against the wall in the hall. This was during the Curious George stage. She was trying to look as casual as a 3 year old who knows she has transgressed can look. So I casually asked her how her day had been and made chit chat and you could see she just wished I'd go away. So finally I said, um, Kathleen, is there something I should know? So she crooks her finger for me to lean down and whispers in my ear, "Daddy, there's been some MISCHIEF."

I was still laughing an hour later. She'd been scribbling on the wall and I helped her wash it off. She's almost 15 now, and I told her that story a couple of weeks ago and SHE cracked up.
