Am I the only DUer who has never ever shot-up heroin?

there are few drugs i didn't try when i was young and foolish, but i just wanted a buzz, not an addiction. smack just scared the crap outta me.

and I don't smoke tobacco or drink alcohol, though I tried both briefly when a youth. That being said, I think the drug war is bogus and that all drugs should be decriminalized and that drug abuse should be treated as the medical condition it is.

In my younger days, I smoked marijuana and did cocaine. But that was a long, long time ago and my health would not allow me to do that stuff nowadays.

And just the thought of sticking myself with a needle -- Ugh!!

I've never gotten that impression. And most pot-head types I know never tried it either.

I've taken things narcotic, from Vick's 44 with codeine, to various pain pills. Though I've tried them, I avoid uppers, and downers. I don't even like alcohol all that much, though I drink it occasionally in moderation. LSD, and magic mushrooms are fun. It's been a few years since I've done any LSD, or magic mushrooms. What I really like is pot, which I smoke probably too much.

She was a junkie for ten years, mostly in the punk scene.

I'm glad you didn't get the habit, perhaps you aren't an addict but just enjoy being high.

Using the needle is another thing, but it is what is being injected that matters most as shooting is just a method of decreasing the time for the effects to hit your central nervous system.

Not a cool subject for Mother's Day imho, not an easy subject to begin to talk about either.

Doctors and nurses did it. I have not put anything in my veins and stayed away from smack. That Morphine, though, It. Is. God!

I had back surgery in jr high and it only took a dose or two for me to learn to ask for the elixir with both the morphine and the antiemetic. :puke:

But being painfree for a few hours was definitely worth it.

24. Why I will never take illegal drugs

Snorting: One day, as a toddler, a sibling asked me to sniff some black pepper to see if I would sneeze. That cured me of ever wanting to put anything up my nose!

I am afraid of getting injections, so it is unlikely I want to inject myself.

Taking any type of medication: I know enough of my family medical history I can't take any medication unless I absolutely have to.

Smoking, no way.

They were prescribed for pain but the cure was worse than the disease. I was vomiting all over the place. Yowser. And people take those things for recreation? I guess it's a lucky thing my reaction was rare, or we'd have even more trouble managing chronic pain than we already do.

P.S. I guessed it was a copy-cat.

31. Two things I hate with a passion are needles and addiction...

...So heroin never even remotedly interested me. Hell even the prescription opiates I've taken never did anything but put me to sleep, so it's probably just as well.
