The absolute best moment of your day?
Mine is when I can finally sit down and take my shoes off-- at the end of the day they feel like concrete blocks. The moment of blissful relief is tremendous-- even if it CAN empty the room, which by itself is not necessarily a bad thing!

4. Today I picked up my niece, her 13 year-old son and her new husband.
They live in England while hubby is in military. I took them to see my older sister who is the mother/grandmother and lives in an assited living facility because she has dementia...mild, but severe enough for the need for assistance. She had not seen them for 2 1/2 years and of course, Dakota had grown up quite a bit. She was so excited to see him. That's the happiest I've seen her in years. It brought tears to my eyes because she so often resents me as her power of attorney for having put her there. That has been very difficult for me...probably more than for her.

But I'm glad she was happy today and hope she will remain calm while they are here for the next 10 days. And hopefully she and I can try to rebuild the "sistership" we once had. It's difficult because as her daughter explained their relationship, it's like walking around in mine fields in Cambodia. You never know what step will set her off.

After that, the next thing that I love is coming home to my pup who ALWAYS IS GLAD TO SEE ME!!!! What a treat!
