1. The car is very nice but
doesn't take the place of something romantic IMHO

2. Romantic? With your mother?
Your wife is not your mother, so the notion of romantic sort of rolls right past it all into the area where anniversaries and birthdays live.

When did all this idiocy get to matter so much? I taught my kids that these Mothers' and Fathers' Day observances were just so much Hallmark nonsense.

6. Meh. I like it. Makes my kids and hubby stop to think about what a great
mom I am. Plus I get out of making dinner and doing the dishes. ;^)

17. I certainly think so.
I get my husband something for Father's Day. No, he's not my father, but he IS the father of my children, and a great father at that. I like to give that the recognition I think it deserves.

Besides, the children are too young to do something on their own for their father.

22. Nope
That's called "the mother of his children."

She's not his mother.

I'm not my husband's mother. There's a perfectly wonderful woman who claims that title.

I'm my children's mother. The only one they have.

3. Nothing!? When they say that, you know it's gonna cost you...
And if you do get them nothing, they'll be on the phone to all their friends in a flash tearing you a new one...
:dilemma:

14. They are ragdolls
and not from the same parents. The one on the table  (my bad manners) is a seal mitted and the one on the chair is a seal point. Thanks for the compliment.

10. I don't want anything, either -- just happy kids and grandkids nearby
OK, I do wish for less trouble with my thyroid medication, but that's something I have to work on!

We're going out for Chinese crispy fish at the Royal Panda Restaurant, Tigard, Oregon.

See ya later, alligator!

18. Make no mistake about it. This is a test!
She's testing you to see if you listen and pay attention to what she says. She wants something and its up to you to figure it out.
Better put that thinking cap on! Try to recall past conversations and look for something.

Glad I'm not in your shoes!

LOL

23. Now, why would you say that?
You don't think it's possible that she really doesn't want a gift for Mother's Day because the new car is enough for her?
