Hey, I am here in Hawaii
and so is Bush. There are approx. 300 protesters in Waikiki.

I am watching the News and Bush challenged the kids at a 2nd grade classroom to read. HA.

Laura Bush read a children's a book called "Quack, Giggle Giggle"

They shut down the freeway just for Bush.

That's the news from Hawaii.

2. Do they still have lots of hookers down by waikiki?
Edited on Thu Oct-23-03 11:24 PM by Beaker
I remember that they were pretty brazen and easy to spot when we were there several years ago.
a lot of them looked like they were girls dressed up for the prom, (albeit in some cases a slutty prom) and seemed to gravitate towards men & boys in uniform, and japanese men.
I was quoted a rate of $100 a throw- with my wife standing there with me(a surprisingly reasonable rate it seemed to us). We were both curious as to the going rate, so I asked one.
It also seems that a lot of the hookers are there from the mainland on 'working vacations', according to an article I read in the paper when we were there.

3. Yes
the hookers are still there. The go for the military men because they are just horny and the japanese because they are rich.

The cops try to stop them, but they continue. sometimes, it looks like they are just wearing a two piece. And they walk in high heels withouth straps (Yikes)

4. Oh, man, I used to get approached all the time when I lived there
and I'm not military!

After a number of months, I got a hang of where they tended to stand, so I could wend my way through waikiki (I lived nearby, and they have a great movie theater I loved to go to, though otherwise I stayed away from it) in a zig zagging pattern to avoid them.

They didn't bother me, it just got annoying having the fifth or sixth group in one evening ask me if I "wanna date."
