Sometimes, when watching "Animal Precinct" I get very upset
Edited on Thu May-05-05 08:10 PM by CatWoman
anxious and teary. I can't stand watching those abused and neglected animals.

Every day I thank my lucky stars that I found this place. There are so many decent, humane, animal lovers here.

Here's to all of you

1. That show is depressing.
Which is probably why I don't watch it much.

:toast:

Here's to you, Midori!

6. Yes it is proof of which can be found in the fact that my girlfriend
usually can make it to the ending of the show without weeping. The show also pisses me off because I can't understand how people can be so cruel and careless to their animals. I mean there was one episode where someone had taken a hammer to the head of a dachsund to make it meaner. You could tell it pissed off everyone because when they found the poor thing one of the newer cops sounded like he was ready to tear the head off the owner if they found him. They ended up staking the place out for couple days to bust him. They caught him!! The dachsund lost one eye but thankfully didn't lose both. Also he never made it out of the shelter because one of the workers ther adopted him and brought him home to her son and other pet dachsund.

4. I could NEVER do the job those officers do
because I would be taking my nightstick to the sides of the heads of some of those people. the worst I ever saw was a German shepherd who could barely stand because it had so many ticks on her they were literally sucking the lifeblood out of her. It took the vets three days to get all the ticks off of her. She was such a dear and it had a happy ending thankfully. They show ended with the two female officers taking her to the park and playing with her just before she was adopted.

5. I remember that episode!!!!
and I really wanted to kick the owner's ass.

There's NO excuse for letting that happen to a dog.

9. I was enraged because my family had always had shepherds
and I knew how loving and wonderful they can be as part of the family. In my mind I can't understand it. Because my pets are FAMILY, they aren't property, or some object. Doing that would be like doing to one of my kids. Did you ever see the 9/11 episode?

10. Sometimes, while flipping thru channels, I come upon it
and quickly change the channel.

I think I'm going to block it out -- I just can't take it.

11. I am so glad there are and it seems that show has been hopefully
doing some good. Because when it started there was only four officers for all of NYC. Now I think they are up to a dozen. Still not enough but at least its a few more. They also seem to have more support from the NYPD because a couple times I think they have been working with underover offiers trying to break up dog fighting.

14. Are they still in Detroit?
My wife and I used to watch it alot. There are some awful stories, but it's always nice to see the animals they do save and the kind people who adopt them and make them happy. Sometimes I just can't watch it either though. It was always weird to see that stuff going on in neighborhoods I was familiar with too. I'll never forget the episode where they went into a house on the East Side of Detroit and found 200 cats living inside.
