1. And, as first timer this week,
I am confused. It seemed like there were two people being called Mr. President. Is that so, or did I misunderstand? If so, what are the plot circumstances that have allowed this?

3. Palmer, the Black guy, was Prez in the two previous seasons
He was pretty popular and dealt with terrorist threats before. They brought him in to advise

6. Thanks Mr. S !
They are still letting the former prez make some pretty heavy calls, it seems.

P.S. Noam and Barry both say :hi:

2. It's an action show
A lot of the bad guys are American, and a lot of them aren't

I think, that despite the overwhelming tendency of this country to portray Islam in a cartoonish fashion, they try to be apolitical.

5. I guess... I saw an ad, once, during 24
in which Kiefer Sutherland said that even though "24" depicts ME people as baddies, in real life most ME people are good citizens.

It left me with a strange taste in my mouth... Did anybody see that 30 sec ad?

8. Yes I saw it, too.
They aired it after the hoopla at the beginning of this season.

Monday's show was awful. :(

7. I think its 'ideology' is irrelevant
It's like a comic book in many ways, or a Ray Bradbury novel. It's an exaggeration of circumstances with a larger than life hero. It depicts some acts which are abhorent, but carefully depicts them in ways that suggest they're not acceptable, perhaps not even in the most extreme circumstances.

Was Superman a Republican or a Democrat? How about Spiderman,- conservative or liberal? Batman? Well... so's Jack Bauer; saving the world on an hourly basis, outside the box.
