when was the Last documented case of 'consumption'?
when reading oLder books, it seems that 'consumption' was one of the top kiLLers of mankind, yet i have seen or read about any new cases.

1. It was the old name for Tuberculosis.
So that should answer the question.

aLthough i did not know it was TB - i assumed it was cancer.

9. and other unknown ailments as well-
consumption was also used in common parlance to cover other wasting illnesses, like some cancers- whose actual pathologies were unknown at the time.

And there are new cases. Consumption is wasting away of your body from pulmonary tuberculosis, but since 99 percent of the new cases of TB are poor street people, our society and media just don't give a rat's ass.

18. There was a post here the other day
where somebody sister had been diagnosed with TB. They have quarantined everyone that has had contact with here. You could probably find it with a search.
