I never understood what's so funny about a show that the majority of the humor contained therein is of people being injured.

The difference is that the guys on Jackass are aware that what they are doing is dangerous, and they know what's coming.

On America's funniest Home Videos, most of the people don't realize that, say, the kid on the tricycle is about to sacrifice all of his front teeth to grandpa's lowered tailgate.

No one is never really seriously injured. And, the animal and kid videos can be downright hilarious.

IMO the show is funny and good clean escapist entertainment. I couldn't stand it when Bob Sagat was the host, but I like the new guy.
