4. Exactly, if you forced him to fight, and gave him no escape...
...he'd be the first to restort to underhanded tactics. And by "be the first to resort to" I mean "start off the fight using".

5. Neither are fighters by nature.
The Doctor is programmed to be a doctor, and Rimmer is self programmed to be a coward. But if both were forced, Rimmer would fight, dirty. If holograms have balls, the doctor better be wearing a cup.
