11. I love it when fundies cite violent passages in the Koran, yet ignore

the Old Testament's violence, and how Jehovah orders the Israelis to destroy cities in his name, how he ordered Abraham to sacrifice his son, relenting at the last possible moment, how Jacob tricked his father into giving him the birthrite, etc.

Hell, I recently heard TD Jakes discussing the story of Dinah, Jacob's daughter, getting raped and basically blaming Dinah for it. I had previously thought Bishop Jakes was somewhat supportive of women, too, with his whole "Woman, thou art loosed" spiel.

It is just rhetoric that he has been taught to use for the hate they are filled with.

It amazes me how much hate a Christian organization can create. Just last Sunday I was sitting in church half dozing from the late night before, when this young lady began to speak, I glanced up and saw who it was.
It hit me, this lady was talking about the Lord knowing every thing she did and every thought before she did.
If that were true, do you think he would have let her make the hateful statements I had heard her shout not 2 weeks before? It blows my mind how they can quantify their hate and prejudice.

in that that Muslims admire virtually the same prophets and worship pretty much the same God as Christians.

The Islamic religion is pretty much a continuation of Judeo-Christian themes.

The main difference is the language (although in fact Arabic is probably closer to the language that Jesus spoke than today's English translations).

On edit: what I'm trying to say, in a roundabout way, is that any attack on Islam can also be logically extended to be an attack on Judeo-Christianity because the messages in both religions are pretty much the same and based on the same heritage (i.e. there is one God - called "Allaha" in Aramaic which is the language Jesus spoke, you have to follow a similar moral code, unbelievers should be converted etc).
