I'd like to change my tune on Family Guy..... |
|
I watched it once during it's initial run and it struck me as a total poor man's wannabe Simpsons. As such I dismissed any and all hype surrounding the show the same way I did with South Park in that it might occassionally be funny but relied too much on scatological humore which I tend to only find intermittently amusing.
But last night I watched Family Guy as well as American Dad and laughed out loud more than I have in a while. And I've never seen/heard so many anti-republican, anti-right wing jokes crammed into such a short space of time. More so than even the Daily show.

8. Well, it is *only* a theory |

I laughed out loud on that one.
BTW, can anyone explain the reference for the guy at the end who looked like he was covered in crap?

3. I converted a friend of mine in that way... |

he made the same argument you did, and I countered with the fact that I thought it was fresh and inventive. I think you and I may have debated that a bit a few months back.
Family Guy freakin' rocks! :-)

A full half hour of nothing but making fun of white male republican fundamentalists. It was great!

7. Long time family guy supporter |
|
I was so sad when it ended and I bought all the DVD as soon as they came out (I hated supporting FOX but Family Guy is a slap in their face). I was thinking about having a party at my house for the new family guy episodes but I wanted it quite so I could try and catch all the jokes.
Also American Dad is almost funnier then Family Guy but only time will tell.
