10. That sounds like a good combination. Yum. I never thought of adding
avocado and tamari. I'll have to try that. I usually have the reds swimming in butter with fresh dill and a squeeze of lemon.

6. Those are great for roasting! For mashed I prefer Russets or Yukon Golds.
But, hey, I've never met a potato I didn't like :)

8. They are good for roasting
I like to cut them up and bake with some olive oil and herbs.

But they're also good in mashed potatoes, if you don't overcook and keep the peels on.

I also like the other potatoes, but really you can't go wrong.

12. omg ...
I bought a potato ricer, always had one in life #1 but left everything behind when I moved on. Fast forward to life #2, bought a ricer and used it one Sunday. Made a nice dinner, just the two of us. Steaming bowl of riced potatoes on the table. Hubby gets up, doesn't say a word, goes to the fridge, sits back down and proceeds to pour what I think is Worcestershire sauce on his potatoes BUT it's really soy sauce!!!!

The look on his face was priceless! ! !

He'd NEVER heard of a potato ricer and thought I'd served RICE.

didn't look like rice to me LOL

:hi:

I'll give 'em up when I'm seventy and have to eat through a straw. Til then give me something to chew on...

9. Whoa, this is so cosmic. I'm eating taters right now!
Roasted, with garlic and pepper and a wee bit of salt.

As for mashed potatoes, scrub 'em, cook 'em, mash 'em all together, skins and everything. Add a little milk and butter and you're all set.

13. I like mashed potatoes you could make lefse with.
And you CANNOT, CANNOT have lumps when you make lefse.

Ordinarily, though, a few lumps don't bother me. When I make mashed potatoes with Yukon Golds, I don't even peel them.

14. Smooth or lumpy, you just can't go wrong with mashed potatoes,
unless they are instant (yuck). You just can't beat homemade mashed taters. Yum!
